On January 16, 1920, Zeta began as an idea conceived by five coeds at Howard University in Washington D.C.: Triumphant Founder Arizona Cleaver Stemons, Triumphant Founder Pearl Anna Neal, Triumphant Founder Viola Tyler Goings, Triumphant Founder Myrtle Tyler Faithful, and Triumphant Founder Fannie Pettie Watts. These five women dared to depart from the traditional coalitions for black women and sought to establish a new organization predicated on the precepts of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”24px”][vc_column_text]The Sorority has chartered hundreds of chapters in the US, Caribbean, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa and has initiated more than 125,000 women. Zeta\u2018s national and local programs include the endowment of its National Educational Foundation, community outreach services and support of multiple affiliate organizations, such as the March of Dimes and the American Heart Association. Zeta chapters and auxiliaries have given untotaled hours of voluntary service to educate the public, assist youth, provide scholarships, support organized charities, and promote legislation for social and civic change.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”24px”][vc_column_text]Since its inception, the Sorority has chronicled a number of firsts. [\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text]Since 1920, the legacy of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. has been firmly secured in the sorority’s service to the community and all humanity. Z-HOPE: Is a holistic, multidimensional outreach program. One of the primary goals of Z-HOPE is to enhance, cultivate and empower participants to develop health-promoting lifestyle choices in all stages of their lives.<\/p>\n

Z-HOPE targets five major populations (women, youth, men, seniors and international women of color) by utilizing a life-span approach to reach all people…from the young to the old, from prenatal to geriatric.
